TAKE STOCK OF YOUR GOALS

Here we are approaching the end of the year already! Now is a good time to take stock of where you’re at with your 2017 goals.

Are you where you thought you’d be by now? Do you have goals that need to be refreshed and adjusted? What needs to happen for you to be happy with your progress and feel like you’re ready to take on the upcoming New Year with more intention and momentum than ever before?

Give yourself time to sit down and really plan it all out.

MAKE A BETTER BREAKFAST

As salon owners, we’re embarking on the busiest time of the year. However, sometimes we can get so busy that the little things that make life better fall through the cracks – little things like that significant first meal of the day.

If your breakfast experience can use a little improvement, then I encourage you to start a “Breakfast Ideas” board on Pinterest to get the inspiration flowing.

Take better care of YOU. Your salon and team will thank you for it. 🙂

REDUCE THE FEELING OF GUILT

When we have family, friends & children, and are passionate about your business, the guilt can cause you to sabotage yourself. So to stop this literally, make dates for each area of your life. Just once a month for now. Yourself included. Mark it down, plan it. And follow through. No excuses. And focus on the date, nothing else, just the person(s) in front of you. By doing this, you being present, planning, you will be giving the time that you previously felt guilty for. When you sit down to work, you will know you are sharing your time.

GO EXPERIENCE NATURE

Spend at least 3o mins a day in nature paying attention to colours, textures, and sounds. It may be in your garden, in a park, by the sea, or in a forest. Nature is the best place to feel calm and inspired as there are no negative thoughts there. Everything seems to work harmoniously together at every second of the now despite the changing seasons.

 

SCHEDULE A WEEKLY CHECK-IN WITH YOURSELF

Once a week, get out of your house and go somewhere where you can get quiet and see where you’re at with your goals, your life, and your overall well-being. Escape to a coffee shop, a park bench, the beach – a place where you can enjoy a change of scenery and indulge in some thinking time. Bring along your planner, your journal, a personal development book. Whatever gets you in the zone. If you’re not used to taking time for yourself like this, then think of it as an appointment. Schedule the time and place into your calendar. Remember that you are worth whatever amount of time that you can invest in YOU.
