This month I am sharing 5 tips to help you take your salon and life to the next level. We hope you have an amazing March and don’t forget to leave a comment letting us know which tip you’d like to try!


One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was “Build your business to support the lifestyle that you want.” Do you know what your dream lifestyle looks like?  Would you be working one-on-one with clients, managing your business only, or working mostly on your business? Knowing what I wanted my lifestyle to look like helped me know what I needed to add and subtract from my business in order to support that vision.


Make this month the “YES!” month! Simply try to say yes to at least 3 of the things that you’ve been unsure to do or not in your business and see how it works! Sometimes we get hesitant about things because we get scared that it may not work or it may cause problems in our business while they can actually be good, not bad!

Write down the top 3 things that you are hesitant to do in your salon ( it may be making a social media post, buying a course or program, or maybe changing your price list. Write down how you will feel if these things have a positive impact on your salon. Now write down a list of actions you want to take to do these 3 things and start taking those actions and by the end of the month write down your results and you may be surprised!

I’m sure there will be at least one positive result and I can guarantee you 100% that you will become brave in your business.  You will train your mind to make more brave decisions and of course, you will have more positive results from the actions! If one of those things does not bring you your desired result, owning a business is all about trial and error. However, if you do not take the action you will never know what the result could have been.

Create a Training Planner

A great way for your team members to know that you value them is to have a training plan that is visible for them to see. An advantage of planning training is it allows you to allocate your training budget. Training does not have to be costly nor does it have to be a course. Training can be a number of different avenues. You could do training on Key Performance Indicators or you could do some technical/product knowledge training.

Increase your retail sales

Retail sales are by far the easiest way to increase your salon revenue and bottom line. By training, showing and encouraging your team to work smarter by selling retail you are giving yourself a nice wee pay rise.
